Caballer FX is a relatively young company founded in 2004, but with a very strong background in the sector through the Zamorano-Caballer family line.
The current artistic director and fireworks expert, María José Lora Zamorano, is the fifth generation of a family that began working in the pyrotechnic world in 1877 and is an example of the increasingly common presence of women in this traditionally masculine sector.
Under her leadership this pyrotechnic company has achieved great success, thanks to its highly specialised team of experts in handling, setting up and launching all types of fireworks for a market that demands the highest standards of quality and safety. The company makes its own fireworks at its facilities in Vilamarxant (Valencia), which occupy more than 200,000 m2 and have capacity for storing 25,000 kg of products.
Among the most important awards the company has won are the Concha d’Or in San Sebastian in 2011 and 2nd prize in the International Costa Brava Fireworks Contest in 2015.
The Pyroitaly pyrotechnic company was set up in 2003. It is based in the north of Italy and, thanks to this central location, companies from all over Europe use its services.
The firm’s two partners, Piero Fiorini and Giusseppe Bottazzi, are both passionate about fireworks and believe that fire, by itself, can be extremely attractive. However, in recent years they have been using new technologies to create extraordinary displays.
The company’s main aim is to stage truly innovative displays that unite all the latest technologies to launch their fireworks in a dynamic choreography that combines aerial effects with the very best fireworks.
Pyroitaly has performed at important events in Italy and abroad and won the Malta Fireworks Festival competition in 2017, among other awards.
This company was founded in the early 1930s when a young man, Guido Pancaldi, developed a passion for pyrotechnics and began selling fireworks in the Swiss town of Ascona.
Two decades ago the business passed into the hands of brothers Andrea and Luca Colombo, who continue to run the operation with great dedication and professionalism, after a lengthy collaboration with Raffaello Duca.
The company has updated in recent years, with its technical team testing various pyrotechnical combinations in order to come up with increasingly sophisticated creations that will become thrilling and safe displays.
La Pirotecnica Sagl Colombo focuses on designing and preparing impressive firework displays on land and water. Some of its most important work includes its participation in the Swiss National Day celebrations, on 1 August, and its annual display in Locarno known as the Luci e Ombre (one of the biggest events in Switzerland), which involves an extravagant 35-minute display of rockets launched from 24 rafts.
Hermanos Ferrández was originally founded over one hundred years ago by a family with a long history of working in the pyrotechnic arts. It is currently run by the four eldest sons of Antonio Ferrández, who have more than 60 years’ experience in the sector.
Leo Ferrández is a designer who innovates in every section and combines sound and light in a very special way, creating his own unique effects. Innovation and tradition are part of this company, in which creativity is ever-present in each of their displays.
This champion returns to Blanes for another year keen not only to win, but also to provide a fantastic display. The quality of this company’s work has been demonstrated in the superb displays accompanied by a spectacular aquatic elements staged in the last two editions of the contest. Ferrández has improved its materials and designs in sections including new features and state-of-the-art digital choreographies.
Its kamuro sections and the very latest in fireworks will be present once again in the bay of Blanes, provided by Leo Ferrández, one of the young designers on the national and international pyrotechnic scene who year after year manages to surprise audiences and the critics of this art form.
Pirotecnia Xaraiva is a Galician family business that has continued to grow since 1960, becoming one of Spain’s leading pyrotechnic companies. Since 1993 the company has operated from a newly built factory where it produces all kinds of pyrotechnic material in the traditional Galician style.
Eva Do Esperito Santo, who inherited the family business from her father, Luis —a prominent figure in this art—, and Quique Martín are in charge of designing the displays, which have a solid structure and genuinely lavish sections bearing the hallmark of the years of experience and their roots in the Galician-Portuguese pyrotechnic style.
This company returns to Blanes full of enthusiasm and with a powerful display with the characteristic strength of the Galician style, which led them to victory in Bilbao where they beat some of the top international pyrotechnic companies to become the champion of champions.
Parente Fireworks’ beginnings date back to the end of the 19th century in southern Italy. In 1951, the founder’s heirs left the south and moved north-east to Melare, where they built a new factory covering an area of 3,000 m2. Since that time, Parente Fireworks has gone from strength to strength and is becoming increasingly well-known internationally.
Creativity, design and innovation are the main characteristics of this company, which has taken its magical displays around the world. It produces its own fireworks using innovative materials and has provided state-of-the-art pyrotechnic displays for important events such as the opening ceremony of the Mediterranean Games, the Emir Cup at the National Stadium in Qatar, the Festa del Redentore in Venice and Scuderia Ferrari , among others.
Old friends of Blanes, the company has staged breathtakingly beautiful displays here over the years, a real treat for Saint Anna’s Eve.
